Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

The Gwandalan Public School Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association is a school-based organisation made up of parent volunteers, grandparent helpers and interested citizens. Our P&C proudly assists with the provision of resources, facilities, and equipment by organising fundraising events throughout the school year that bring our community together.

What we do

Our annual fundraising program includes:

• Several school community events, delicious BBQ breakfasts, raƯles, and stalls. Our main fundraisers are centred around Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas.
• Grants that we apply for (from government and community sources) that assist us with specific projects around the school.
• We also offer opportunities for local businesses to sponsor our P&C. In the past we have received amazing support from local clubs, legal firms and real estate businesses. If you are part of a business that might be interested in learning more about this, please don’t hesitate in contacting us through our socials or email to discuss the options available.

How you can help

We welcome and encourage parents, extended family and interested citizens to become a member of our P&C to learn about what’s happening at our School and have your say.

Our current Committee is made up of people with wonderfully varied skills and experience, who volunteer their time to assist with events and fundraising to benefit our school and ultimately our kids’ learning environment.

We meet once a month during school terms, predominately online. Online meetings mean that it easy for our members to join in from where ever they are as we know it’s a juggle with meetings, dance classes, swimming lessons and soccer practice, we understand our members are busy people.

Not all members hold an official role. Some simply attend our meetings and events when time allows, to give us a helping hand. This could be selling raƯle tickets at our Mother’s Day breakfast BBQ, running the Chocolate Wheel at the school disco, or helping kids choose their gift at our Father’s Day stall. Maybe you’ve got a flair for forms and writing and could help us submit grants for funding.

The important thing to know is that members only need to offer what they can (and what their schedule allows). There will be no pressure from us – and we really do appreciate any help that’s offered.
