Gwandalan Public School is situated at the southern end of Lake Macquarie servicing the Summerland Point and Gwandalan communities. The school was established in 1961 and since opening has seen steady growth in numbers which is a continuing trend. The school was rebuilt in 1990 to cater for the needs of the students in the local area.

The school has a significant environmental focus, being successful in a number of competitions for the grounds and work being done in and around the school.

We have an emphasis on teaching basic skills in English and Mathematics. The welfare of both students and staff is seen as important and the school fosters a positive, caring environment where learning is valued.
